Big Opening of STEP IT Academy Azerbaijan


September 14, 2016: It was with great pomp and ceremony that a new branch of STEP IT Academy opened in Baku, Azerbaijan. The country’s highest ranking officials took part in it’s grand opening ceremony.

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov were in attendants. STEP IT Academy founder and CEO Dmitriy Korchevskiy, and Branch Director Alexey Sleptsov hosted the ceremony.

The STEP IT Academy branch in Azerbaijan is an important first for the company. Never before has a branch been opened in in partnership with officials at the national level.

President Aliyev was introduced to the academy’s modern education programs, which will be taught in a newly remodeled building on the campus of Baku’s Professional College. The facility features 17 fully equipped computer classrooms, a robotics lab, art studio, and four graphic design and digital photography labs.

The new branch is expected to serve over 2,100 students per year. Even before the grand opening 210 students had enrolled and 500 students are expected to enroll before the end of this year.

During the Grand Opening guests enjoyed an opportunity to learn about the academy, experience facility tours, and participate in educational program presentations.
